Our Indian classical vocal teacher is an exponent of both Carnatic and Hindustani classical music, who has been regularly singing at the Sunnyvale Hindu Temple.
She conducts vocal lessons- both Carnatic classical and devotional music for children and adults of various levels – beginner to advanced.
She hails from a South Indian family well known for its roots in classical music. She has been trained under Hindustani vocalist, Shruti Sadolikar of the Agra gharana.
Growing up in cosmopolitan Mumbai, she was exposed to diverse music forms and thus developed a passion for bhajans and abhangs, bhakti sangeet , shlokams, devarnamas, ashtapadis, etc.
Her repertoire includes compositions in Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit,Tamil, Kannada and Telugu by such composers as Tyagaraja , Purandara Dasa , Papanasam Sivan Annamacharya , Subramanya Bharati, Gopalakrishna Bharati . She also performs devotional compositions popularized by such legendary authors as M.S Subbulakshmi
